How to make Sticky Rice

Sticky rice is so easy to make! Begin by soaking a sweet long grain glutinous Jasmine rice (a minimum of two hours) up to 24 hours ahead of time.

Boil a few cups of water on a stove top in a sticky rice steamer. Add bamboo insert and place washed and soaked rice in steamer basket. Insert snug fitting lid and steam.

Check rice at 10-12 minutes. Shake basket, if rice is still “loose” continue cooking.

When rice is finished it rice grains will be tender and the entire rice contents will be slightly stuck together.

Use to dredge up your favorite sauces or desserts like mango sticky rice. Enjoy!
